CHILD ADHD

Understanding Your Child Through ADHD Assessment

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental condition that affects a child’s attention, impulsivity, and activity levels. Left unrecognized, it can interfere with learning, social relationships, self-esteem, and daily routines. Early recognition and intervention make a major difference: with timely assessment and tailored supports, children gain tools to manage symptoms, build strengths, and reach their potential.

Psych2Gether offers comprehensive, family-centred ADHD diagnostic assessments aligned with NHS and NICE guidelines, providing medication and psychological treatment, guidance, and support for your child, family, and teachers.

Why Consider an ADHD Assessment for Your Child?

Common Signs of ADHD in Children

ADHD can vary across childhood and between boys and girls, influencing how it’s recognized and diagnosed; this variability can affect school performance, social relationships, and emotional well-being, so early professional evaluation and ongoing support are important.

If you suspect your child may have ADHD, the SNAPIV is a validated screening tool to be completed by parents or teachers to help identify possible symptoms for further evaluation by an expert clinician.

Why Choose Us

Understanding Adult ADHD: Navigate Life with Focus and Confidence

Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that can significantly impact focus, time management, decision-making, and emotional regulation.

While ADHD is often identified in childhood, many individuals only discover they have it later in life, when professional, academic, or personal demands highlight the challenges. We provide comprehensive Adult ADHD assessments to help you gain clarity, unlock your strengths, and develop strategies for success.

Why Get an ADHD Assessment?

Signs You May Have Adult ADHD

Our Child ADHD Assessment Process

We follow NHS and NICE guidance, but we treat every child and family as unique. Our welcoming clinicians use trusted assessment tools alongside warm, straightforward conversations so you feel heard and understand the next steps. You’ll get a clear, personalised plan and practical follow‑through—hands‑on advice, easy‑to‑use resources and school liaison—to help parents and teachers support your child confidently at home and in class.

Step 1 — Free 15‑minute consultation
Begin with a complimentary, no‑obligation 15‑minute phone or video call with one of our clinicians. During this call we’ll listen to your concerns, gather a brief developmental and medical history, and clarify the behaviours or learning differences you’ve noticed. We’ll explain the assessment pathway, answer your questions about timing and cost, and help you decide the best next steps for your child.

Step 2 — Pre‑assessment questionnaires and information gathering

Before the diagnostic appointment we send scientifically validated questionnaires for parents and, where possible, teachers or other caregivers. These tools measure attention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and emotional or executive‑function difficulties across home, school and social settings. We also review any previous reports (e.g., school assessments, education plans, or medical records) to build a complete picture of your child’s strengths and challenges.

Step 3 — Comprehensive diagnostic assessment
The core assessment is a one‑to‑one video consultation with an experienced consultant psychiatrist, attended by the parent and child. The clinician conducts a structured clinical interview, observes behaviour during the session, and integrates questionnaire results and collateral information. You’ll receive clear feedback at the end of the consultation and have time for questions. If a diagnosis is reached, the clinician will discuss evidence‑based treatment options and collaboratively design a personalised plan that may include medication, psychological therapies, educational strategies, or a combination.

Step 4 — Confidential diagnostic report
Within two weeks we provide a detailed, confidential report summarising the assessment process, clinical findings, questionnaire scores, diagnosis (if any), and practical recommendations. The report is written in parent‑friendly language and includes suggestions for school support, behavioural strategies, and referrals where appropriate. With your consent, we send a copy to your GP to support coordinated care.

Step 5 — Post‑diagnostic management and ongoing support
Following diagnosis we offer a free 15‑minute follow‑up with a senior clinician to review how things are progressing and answer further questions. We coordinate ongoing care including initiation and monitoring by a specialist when required, referrals for psychological therapy or coaching, and regular medication or progress reviews. We can also provide resources and training for parents and liaise with schools to implement recommended adjustments and support plans.
