About Adult ADHD

Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that can significantly impact focus, time management, decision-making, and emotional regulation.

While ADHD is often identified in childhood, many individuals only discover they have it later in life, when professional, academic, or personal demands highlight the challenges.

Psych2Gether not only provides comprehensive evidence based Adult ADHD assessments but also tailor-made treatment solutions following NHS & NICE guidelines to help you gain clarity, unlock your strengths, and develop strategies for success.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who conducts assessments?
Assessment is conducted by a consultant psychiatrist with extensive experience in assessment and management of Adult ADHD. Clinician names and credentials will be provided before the assessment.
How do I book an assessment?
We offer a free 15-minute consultation call to screen needs and advise on appropriate assessments. It can be booked online via our website. You can also contact us by email or phone, and our admin team will be pleased to schedule your consultation.
Do I need a GP referral?
No — a GP referral is not required for private assessments. We recommend informing your GP; they will receive a copy of your assessment.
What does the assessment involve?
The specialist assessment includes a detailed clinical interview, standardised symptom questionnaires, review of developmental history and records, risk/comorbidity screening (mood, anxiety, substance use, sleep), and optional cognitive testing if needed. Your psychiatrist will combine this information with pre-assessment questionnaires to determine whether you meet DSM-5 criteria for adult ADHD.
Do you require childhood evidence?
Yes. Diagnostic criteria require symptoms present in childhood. We request school reports, childhood records, or collateral contacts. If unavailable, clinicians use best-evidence approaches and collateral interviews.
How does ADHD present differently in women?
Many women with ADHD describe chronic overwhelm, perfectionism, and secretly struggling to stay organised. You might mask symptoms, feel extra emotional sensitivity, or be diagnosed late. ADHD often coexists with anxiety or depression and can shift with hormones and life stress.
How quickly can I be assessed?
Assessment process starts within 24 hours of contacting us. Once we have received all pre-assessment questionnaires, a comprehensive diagnostic assessment will be booked within two weeks' time with a consultant psychiatrist.
What post-diagnostic support is available to me?
After the assessment, you'll get tailored guidance; if diagnosed with adult ADHD, your specialist will explain management options such as medication, therapy, and support groups.
How do I book and what happens next?
Book a free 15-minute consultation online, or call/email our friendly team who will gladly talk you through the next steps.
