General Questions About Psych2Gether

Psych2Gether offers remote psychiatric assessments for a range of mental health conditions from age 5 years onwards, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum disorders, along with medication prescribing, psychological therapies, and occupational therapy — all delivered online and aligned with NHS & NICE guidelines. Below, we've answered the most common general questions. For condition-specific FAQs, see our dedicated Adult ADHD, Child ADHD, and Adult Autism FAQ pages.

What services do you offer online?
We offer remote psychiatric assessments for a range of mental health disorders from age of 5 years onwards which also include ADHD and Autism Spectrum disorders. We also offer different treatment options — medication prescribing, psychological therapies and occupational therapy.
Do I need a GP referral?
No — you can self-refer directly. If you'd like, we can liaise with your GP (with your permission) for shared care, prescriptions, or updates.
Is online care as good as in-person care?
Yes. Many studies show video therapy works as well as face-to-face care for lots of conditions. Our clinicians are trained to deliver high-quality care online and focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship even over video.
How do online appointments actually work?
After you book, we will send a secure video link by email/SMS. Join from a quiet, private spot on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Is my information safe and private?
Yes. We use encrypted video calls and store clinical records securely in line with UK GDPR. We only share information with your consent — except if there's an immediate risk to you or others, or if the law requires us to act (for example, safeguarding concerns).
Who will I meet?
You will be seen by a qualified clinician — such as a consultant psychiatrist, registered clinical psychologist, accredited therapist, or HCPC-registered occupational therapist. When you book, you'll be informed which clinician will see you and their areas of expertise, and you can request a specific clinician where possible.
Can you prescribe medication online?
Yes. Our psychiatrists and prescribers can prescribe electronically to a UK pharmacy when it's clinically appropriate. Some medications need extra checks, monitoring, or occasional in-person review; your clinician will explain what's needed.
Can I use your service from anywhere?
Yes, as long as you are located in the UK at the time of the appointment. We're unable to provide care outside UK jurisdiction.
What technology do I need?
A stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone (phone, tablet, or laptop). Use a private room and headphones if you can. We'll send any technical instructions with your booking.
What if English isn't our first language?
We can arrange interpreters where possible. Please tell us early so we can plan. We also consider language development carefully in the assessment.
Can I pay for my assessment in instalments?
Psych2Gether provides the option of paying in interest-free easy instalments. Please refer to our Fees/Payment page for more information on payment options.
What's included in the fee?
Clinician time for assessment, scoring of questionnaires, a written diagnostic report, and one 15-minute feedback session are usually included.
Will I receive a written report?
Yes. You will receive a formal diagnostic report summarising history, findings, diagnosis (if any), recommendations and treatment options within 2 weeks after your comprehensive diagnostic assessment.
What if I prefer NHS follow-up after private diagnosis?
We will provide a comprehensive diagnostic report to support referral to NHS services; acceptance and waiting times are determined by local NHS policy.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes — you can cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your appointment without charge. Cancellations inside 48 hours may incur a fee (see our booking terms). Contact us as soon as possible if something comes up.
Can you work with my school or employer?
Yes — with your consent we can prepare reports, suggest reasonable adjustments, and liaise with schools, universities, or employers to support your care and day-to-day functioning.
What happens if I disagree with the outcome?
Discuss concerns with the assessing clinician. You may request further assessment, additional information, or a second opinion (fees apply).
What if I'm in crisis?
We don't provide emergency services. If you are in immediate danger or life is at risk, call 999. For urgent mental health help in the UK, contact NHS 111 (option for mental health) or your local crisis team. If it's urgent but not an emergency, contact your GP.
