We use internationally validated tools including the ASRS screener, WEISS Functional Impairment Scale, Conners Adult ADHD Rating Scales, and DIVA-5 during assessment. Below, we have answered the most frequently asked questions to help you feel confident and informed every step of the way.

Who conducts assessments?
Assessments are conducted by a consultant psychiatrist with experience in the assessment and management of Adult ADHD. Clinician names and credentials will be provided on booking confirmation.
How do I book an assessment?
We offer a free 15-minute consultation call to screen your needs and advise on appropriate assessments. It can be booked online via our website. You can also contact us by phone or email to arrange an appointment.
Do I need a GP referral?
No — a GP referral is not required for private assessments. We do recommend informing your GP; they will receive a copy of your assessment report.
What does the assessment involve?
The specialist assessment includes a detailed clinical interview, standardised symptom questionnaires, review of developmental history and records, risk assessment, discussion of formulation, and a comprehensive written diagnostic report.
Do you require childhood evidence?
Yes. Diagnostic criteria require that symptoms were present in childhood. We ask for school reports, childhood records, or collateral contacts. If unavailable, this will be discussed and managed appropriately during the assessment.
How quickly can I be assessed?
The assessment process starts within 24 hours of contacting us. Once we have received all pre-assessment questionnaires, a comprehensive diagnostic assessment appointment will be arranged at the earliest convenience.
Can I pay for my assessment in instalments?
Psych2Gether provides the option of paying in interest-free easy instalments. Please refer to our Fees/Payment page for more information on payment options.
What's included in the fee?
Clinician time for the assessment, scoring of questionnaires, a written diagnostic report, and one 15-minute feedback session are included in the assessment fee.
Will I receive a written report?
Yes. You will receive a formal diagnostic report summarising history, findings, diagnosis (if any), recommendations, and treatment options within 2 weeks of your assessment.
Do you accept NHS referrals or transfer patients into shared care?
We accept patients privately and can liaise with NHS services and GPs to arrange shared-care prescribing where appropriate, subject to local GP agreement.
What if I prefer NHS follow-up after private diagnosis?
We will provide a comprehensive diagnostic report to support referral to NHS services. Acceptance and waiting times are determined by local NHS policy.
What happens if I disagree with the outcome?
You are welcome to discuss any concerns with the assessing clinician. You may request further assessment, additional information, or a second opinion (additional fees may apply).
What post-diagnostic support is available?
After the assessment, you will receive tailored guidance. If diagnosed with Adult ADHD, your specialist will explain management options such as medication, psychological therapy, coaching, and occupational therapy. A free 15-minute follow-up with a senior clinician is included.
How can I get more information or speak to someone?
Contact our reception team by phone or email for bookings, fees, appointment availability, or any other queries. We are available Monday – Saturday, 9am–6pm.
